Experiments
Here in the Experiments area you'll find all the brow-furrowing, chin-stroking activities that The ECC has been up to. Mischievous MP3s, vituperous videos, cued and ready for instant consumption and sardonic satisfaction.
Note the categories to the left. If you want only music, click MP3s. If you want only videos, there's that too. You can also peek into our Testing Area to hear beta tests and unfinished experiments that we're playing around with. And if you're wondering just what the hell we were thinking when we made those experiments, you might find the answers in our blog. Recent additions to all four categories are listed below.
Live MP3s from Subgenius X-Day 14
Sunday, 06 November 2011 14:52
It's surprising that The Evolution Control Committee hasn't played any events connected with the Church Of The Subgenius since 1991, considering the overlap between the two audiences. Luckily 2011 was the year to fix that at the Subgenius X-Day 14 over July 4th weekend. Why did we wait so long? Subgenius style is a total match for The ECC, and our show went over incredibly well. Well enough that Subgenius super-genius Rev. Ivan Stang played a good chunk of the show on episode 1324 of Hour Of Slack. Well enough that it inspired others to request the whole thing from us.
Behold! Here's the whole ECC performance. Right-Click (Windows or Ctrl-Click (Mac) on the file name to download. Enjoy.

Heck, while we're at it, here's a DJ session from the follow day with Slander Bob.
TradeMark interview by Scott of The Spo-Its
Tuesday, 29 March 2011 05:28
A few days after Mardi Gras, The ECC's TradeMark G. was interviewed by Scott Corkern of The Spo-It's. For Scott's upcoming movie "Big Time Nobody" he wanted to get TradeMark's memories and stories about performing a few shows with the Spo-Its well over a decade ago. In spite of Spo-It's sexploitational and dangerous performances, TradeMark's tales were light on detail. Luckily Scott kept going with discussions on music, extreme performance, plunderphonics, and much more.
Thanks to Scott for driving so far to make this happen, and good luck with the movie!

Double the fat and still relevant
Tuesday, 08 February 2011 10:13
Remember our 1994 album Double The Phat and Still Tasteless?
A few months ago I was getting food for our cat. She's 19 years old, and like many old cats her kidneys are failing so she needs low-protein cat food. The problem is, low-protein cat food apparently doesn't taste very good. So we experimented with a few different brands, and I lucked into a cheaper brand at a close-out store. Problem was, while its protein content was about equal to the expensive brands from the vet, the fat content was half as much, and I figured that would mean it would taste worse. Surprisingly, our cat preferred it, which prompted my comment:
"Huh -- the food from the vet has double the fat, but it's still tasteless."
Never expected to use that phrase in my everyday speech. Yet, here we are.
Stairway To Britney

In order to expand the Wheel Of Mashup, I downloaded the Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Songs Of All Time. I'm almost surprised that the perennially top-rocking Stairway To Heaven only made #39. I'm also surprised I hadn't used any Led Zeppelin in my monster mashup set of source material... huh! Once I did, I discovered one other thing...
...it goes disturbingly well with Britney Spears:
