The ECC loves videos to accompany our music... hopefully you'll like them too. Perhaps you might end up making your own, like many ECC fans have. We've included those fan videos along with our ECC-produced videos for maximum rocking potential.

You can download and view our videos here; just read the posts below for links. You can also watch our videos on our YouTube page, many of which are in high quality (HQ). We also have a few videos on our MySpace page and Google Video.

A few days after Mardi Gras, The ECC's TradeMark G. was interviewed by Scott Corkern of The Spo-It's.  For Scott's upcoming movie "Big Time Nobody" he wanted to get TradeMark's memories and stories about performing a few shows with the Spo-Its well over a decade ago.  In spite of Spo-It's sexploitational and dangerous performances, TradeMark's tales were light on detail.  Luckily Scott kept going with discussions on music, extreme performance, plunderphonics, and much more.

Thanks to Scott for driving so far to make this happen, and good luck with the movie!

Seance technology?
Catholic surveillance?

No, it's a...

Demo of an experimental candle-powered remixing controller.  Each candle controls a music loop, with its X-axis (left/right) movement controlling the volume and the Y-axis (forward/back) controlling an effect.  The candles are tracked by a Nintendo Wii controller mounted (stationary) over the candle area.  The Wii controller has an infrared camera, and candles make great infrared light sources.

More tech detail: the Wii controller communicates with the computer by bluetooth.  The GlovePIE program receives that data and converts it to MIDI control data.  The MIDI triggers Ableton Live which remixes the loops, and the MIDI also triggers Arkaos GrandVJ to move around that projected blinking light that follows the candle position.  Almost.

The ECC is in Warsaw, Poland on residency at CCA/CSW in Ujazdowski Castle and conducting new experiments...

I had this idea for a while after making the VidiMasher 3000 that the infrared lights that trigger it could be candles. One pair of dancers here had circular movements they were using, and I thought those might work with the candles as seen from overhead. This video shows my experiment with that, and what better circular movement to play with than a turntable... so I made one. A virtual one. Like, hold a candle, spin yourself around, and it translates into you scratching a turntable sound.

Oh btw, I'm scratching "Pertaining To The Beat" from our upcoming album "All Rights Reserved" on Seeland Records. Hear it in our MP3 section.
