The ECC's TradeMark G./Mark Gunderson will join 11 Columbus composers to create music to be played on the bells of Trinity Episcopal Church in downtown Columbus Ohio.  The chime compositions are part of Finding Time: Columbus Public Art 2012:

Columbus Public Art 2012 will take place throughout the year in public spaces, plazas, parks, streets, and alleys in the downtown core and the riverfront. Planned in conjunction with 200Columbus the Bicentennial, FINDING TIME will transform downtown into an openair gallery with 14 temporary public art projects by more than 50 international, national, and local artists that will create memorable experiences for downtown workers, residents, and visitors.

The launch of the project is tomorrow:

Thursday, January 26
Noon to 1 p.m.
Trinity Episcopal Church
Broad and Third streets

Finding Time Project Director and Curator Malcolm Cochran will present an exciting overview of the 15 public art projects comprising works by more than 50 international, national, and local artists in downtown Columbus this year.  The brief program will conclude with the premiere live performance of "Double Century Doubles" by composer Sheena Phillips on Trinity's church bells.

ECC will be there; hope you can make it too.
