Experiments

Here in the Experiments area you'll find all the brow-furrowing, chin-stroking activities that The ECC has been up to. Mischievous MP3s, vituperous videos, cued and ready for instant consumption and sardonic satisfaction.

Note the categories to the left. If you want only music, click MP3s. If you want only videos, there's that too. You can also peek into our Testing Area to hear beta tests and unfinished experiments that we're playing around with.  And if you're wondering just what the hell we were thinking when we made those experiments, you might find the answers in our blog.  Recent additions to all four categories are listed below.

Sound of Plaid logoThe Sound Of Plaid episode 2013.02.04:  Special Guest AUTHOR & PUNISHER (Tristan Shone)

Our guest Tristan Shone, better known as AUTHOR & PUNISHER, is a purveyer of a peculiar brand of industrial doom 'n' gloom metal through power electronics.  It's his machines that caught our attention: first his line of drone machines followed by the more recent dub machines, all shiny machined metal that hides controllerist guts used to trigger years of distorted square waves.  They've got a visceral beauty that's more at home on the assembly line than the stage.

Sound of Plaid logoThe Sound Of Plaid episode 2013.01.07:  Runaway Train

Coming at you like a RUNAWAY TRAIN!  The climax of this week's Sound Of Plaid episode gives you just that: the actual recording of a runaway train and the radio dialogue between the frantic engineer aboard and his line controller.  There's also a great variety of other music, from electronic library music to sales records to Poe For Moderns, with our liberal live glitchy remixing style throughout.
